Google and microblogging

bradleybradwell (http://www.lockergnome.com/bradleybradwell/author/bradleybradwell/) at Lockergnome comments the fact that “Apparently, micro blogging search may be next on Google’s to do list. This means that sites like Twitter, Plurk, and Tumblr will all be indexed in a specially designed micro search engine” (full article at http://www.lockergnome.com/bradleybradwell/2009/06/13/google-soon-to-become-the-microblogging-search-engine/).

Same topic is covered by Chris Foresman at Ars technica (full article at http://arstechnica.com/web/news/2009/06/google-adding-micro-blogging-indexing-to-its-search-results.ars)

I agree on the fact that is not a surprise that Google is moving towards microblogging (though I feel that when Google Wave will become available to the public, we’ll see more and more on this topic).

What I fear a little bit (but at the same time I feel attracted by) is that Google is becoming a sort of big blob of things that reminds me Microsoft de facto monopoly we are having now.

Google is doing anything. But will succeed in making this services and tools the standard for the future?
